Elche, Spain General Information
This international meeting occurs every two years and the host venue alternates between the USA and Europe. The location for the 2009 meeting is Elche, Alicante, Spain.
The Meeting will focus on the most important and exciting recent developments in the areas of rapid actions of the steroid hormones; aldosterone, androgens, estrogens, glucocorticoids, progesterone, vitamin D, thyroid hormone as well as neurosteroids. In addition this year we will have a new session on PPARs and Tyroid Hormone Receptors acting out of the nucleus.
The agenda of the meeting will be organized in 6 different sessions and 1 Plenary Lecture:
1) Extranuclear Actions of Steroid Hormones I, 2) Extranuclear Actions of Steroid Hormones II 3) Extranuclear Actions of 17b-estradiol 4) New and Old Receptors out of the Nucleus, 5) The Role of GPR30 as a Novel Estrogen Receptor 6) Translational Research on Rapid Steroid Actions.
The Plenary speaker will be Prof John A. McLachlan, Bioenvironmental Research Center, Tulane and Xavier Universities, New Orleans, USA.
We particularly encourage the participation of Young Investigators in this exciting area of hormone research and prize oral presentations will be selected from this category of researcher.
