This international meeting occurs every two years and the host venue alternates between the USA and Europe. The venue for the 2007 meeting is The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland located in Dublin city centre.

The Meeting will focus on the most important and exciting recent developments in the areas of rapid actions of the steroid hormones; aldosterone, androgens, estrogens, glucocorticoids, progesterone, vitamin D, thyroid hormone as well as neurosteroids.

The agenda of the meeting will be organized by each family of steroid hormones. Thus, we anticipate full sessions on rapid responses to the following: progesterone, estrogens, androgens, vitamin D3, glucocorticoids, rapid effects of steroids in steroid dependent cancers, and rapid steroid actions relevant to physiological functions and clinical medicine.

Each of the Invited Speakers is an established researcher in their respective steroid hormone field with respect to cutting edge research bearing on the question of how do steroid hormones generate rapid responses. We particularly encourage the participation of Young Investigators in this exciting area of hormone research and prize oral presentations will be selected from this category of researcher.

The Plenary lecture will be delivered by Bert W. O’Malley, a leading expert in the cell biology of estrogen actions in breast cancer development.

Further information on registration and abstract submission and a list of researchers and laboratories engaged in RRSH research world-wide can be found at Website: http://steroid-rapid-responses.ucr.edu
